FOOTBALL LEAGUE PODCAST - EPISODE 33

THE Coca-Cola Football League Podcast is now available to download.

Mark Clemmit hosts this week's show from the Football League Awards, where he introduced winners from 19 categories.

Newcastle United's Kevin Nolan was named FourFourTwo Player of the Year in the Championship.

He said: "This season we wanted to unify the team and get the fans back on side.

"The Manager and support staff have been fantastic. We've stuck together and are on the road to getting Newcastle back where we belong.

Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford won the Player of the Year Award in League 1, whilst Rochdale's Craig Dawson took the League 2 prize.

Crystal Palace's Nathaniel Clyne picked up the Young Player of the Year Award.

Zesh Rehman was given the Player in the Community Award for his work with Bradford City.

He said: "We've got a lot of initiatives at Bradford. If there's anything I can do to help, then I'll do it.

"We all have a responsibility as players because young fans look up to us."

Championship Manager Apprentice of the Year winners Adam Matthews, Tom Adeyemi and Kyle Haynes picked up awards in the Championship, League 1 and League 2 respectively.

And Southend United and Watford shared the Community Club of the Year Award.

Gordon Taylor OBE was given the Contribution to League Football Award for his services to the professional game.

He said: "The Football League is stitched into the fabric of society.

"It's no longer just about whether your team wins or loses. Football is now central to the social function of the Community.

"I'm overwhelmed and very proud to receive the award."
