WE HAVE TO GO THERE AND TAKE THE BULL BY THE HORNS

Posted on: Thu 04 Mar 2010

REDS boss Mark Robins gave his thoughts ahead of the trip to Newcastle United.

Mark told Barnsley Player: "At the moment we are looking fine. We are going up to a fortress this weekend and that home record is a challenge for us. We have done well for the majority of the campaign and this is one we will look to enjoy in front of 50,000 fans. I would love to be playing in this one.

"The atmosphere when Newcastle came to Oakwell was the best of the season and I am sure there will be more of the same on Saturday. There are a lot of Barnsley fans going up there and I am sure they will be vocal and behind us. We need them to recreate the kind of atmosphere they gave us at Doncaster and that will be a big plus for us.

"We are going into their stadium and I cannot speak highly enough of the record they have there this season. It will be a great experience for my players but only if we can get something from the game. We will look to enjoy it but we have to impose ourselves on the game. They have an attacking threat from all over the pitch really and are a Premier League squad in waiting.

"We will have everybody available but are just waiting on Emil (Hallfredsson) and Daniel (Bogdanovic) coming back from international duty on Friday. We have a camp in good spirits at the moment and it is a big game for us. We will see what they throw at us but they have not lost on home soil this season and are a strong and physical side with ability. It is a very difficult task but one we are relishing.

"We know we have to start well and maintain that throughout the game. If we dip at any time in the match they we will come unstuck. We have to go there and take the bull by the horns. We have nothing to lose.

"Our job is not done this season. We still have 13 matches left and we want to pick up points from every single game. We are not looking past the next game and this one might we be the toughest of the season".
