FILIPE STAYS!!!

BARNSLEY Football Club are delighted to announce that midfielder Filipe Teixeira has today extended his loan spell at Oakwell until the end of the season.

Filipe joined up with the Reds at the start of February on an initial 28-day loan from West Bromwich Albion and this deal has now been extended. Filipe will remain at Oakwell until the start of May 2010.

He has impressed during his six first team appearances for the Reds.

Barnsley manager Mark Robins told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk: "Filipe has been outstanding for us during the games he has played and we are absolutely delighted to have extended his loan spell here. He is an exciting player and one the supporters have really taken to so hopefully we will continue to see just how good a footballer he is in the coming weeks".

Filipe signed for West Brom in 2007 after spells with Academica de Coimbra, Felgueiras, Istres and Paris St Germain.
