REDS striker Jon Macken believes the games against Preston North End and Middlesbrough could go a long way to shaping the rest of the season.

Jon told Barnsley Player: "We have some big challenges coming up in the next week. We have put ourselves into a position going into Christmas where, if we can come out of this weekend with some good results, we willbe well placed to push on into the right past of the table.

"The performance is all important this weekend and if I could get a goal then that would be a bonus. Christmas can make or break your season because if you come out of it in the right part of the table then you do find that teams push on from that.

"Hopefully we will come out of this weekend with maximum points and give ourselves a massive chance in the New Year".
