IT'S an extra special Christmas cracker for Barnsley supporters as the Club are delighted to announce that full back Carl Dickinson will be returning to Oakwell at the start of the New Year!!!

Reds manager Mark Robins has agreed a deal with Stoke City that will see the highly-rated left back - who has impressed during his three months at Oakwell - stay with the club for the remainder of the Championship campaign.

The 22-year-old has made 13 first team appearances for the Reds so far this season, netting one goal.

Carl is a product of the Stoke City youth system and earned rave reviews during loan spells with Blackpool and Leeds United earlier in his career. He has made more than 50 appearances for Stoke City.

Barnsley manager Mark Robins told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk: "I am absolutely delighted that Tony Pulis has allowed Carl to stay with us until the end of the season. Carl has done very, very well for us and has got better with every game he has played".

Carl will join up with the Reds again on January 1, 2010.
