KEEPER Luke Steele believes the Reds strength in depth is the reason behind the team's upturn in fortunes in recent weeks.

Luke told Barnsley Player: "To be fair Blackpool caused us more problems than any other team in the last five matches. They put us under a lot of pressure in the first half but we grew in confidence after the break. We restricted them but conceded from a penalty yet again - I think that's the last five goals against us have been from the spot.

"We are defending with confidence and the whole team is working hard on that. Ryan (Shotton) has done very well both at right back and again in the middle. Rob (Kozluk) has slotted in on the right and we have so many options everywhere now. Bobby (Hassell) is a brilliant midfielder and full back and he is pushing as well. We are a confident team at the moment.

"We have to focus only on Scunthorpe United and we are not thinking about anything else. We have too many experienced players in the squad to allow our minds to wander beyond the next game. The manager has drilled it into us to focus on the next game and the next three points. That is all we are looking at.

"There are no easy games and Scunthorpe will be no exception. They are a good side and we will have to be at our best. We have to do the same good things that have brought us results".
