STEPHEN McPHAIL

Posted on: Sat 21 Nov 2009

FORMER Barnsley midfielder Stephen McPhail faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a stage one malt lymphoma, previously known as a pseudo lymphoma.

The Cardiff City midfielder's treatment is expected to last for three weeks and McPhail could be back playing again in January.

Everybody at Barnsley Football Club would like to pass on our best wishes to Stephen and wish him a speedy recovery.

Stephen joined the Reds in 2004 and went on to make 79 first team appearances, helping the Reds win promotion to the Championship two years later.
