BARNSLEY youngster Luke Potter is determined to force his way into the first team this season.

Luke told Barnsley Player: "I am a local lad and playing for Barnsley is all I want to do. I got a game a couple of seasons ago but I feel I have really grown up and matured as a player and personally in the last 12-months. I have improved and I am determined to take my chance.

"I have to take this opportunity now and put pressure on Rob Kozluk, Darren Moore and Stephen Foster for their place in the team.

"I love to battle away at centre half to keep a clean sheet. That is all that matters when you play in that position. If I am at full back then I love to get involved and push on but defending your clean sheet is the main thing. I love to learn from everybody at the Club and Darren (Moore) has been brilliant and has really helped me a lot.

"This is a massive season for me. I want to be a regular in the Barnsley team and start every game. I know I will have to keep working hard in training to make sure I am involved. I have to take every chance I get".
