BARNSLEY keeper Luke Steele is determined to take his chance and keep hold of the goalkeepers' jersey throughout the 2009/2010 season.
Luke said: "I did question my future here last season because I was not getting any football but circumstances changed and I felt that I wanted to sign again. We got it sorted and I am back here now. I am pleased, settled and could not be happier. I was delighted to sign a new contract in the summer. There really is nowhere else I would like to be.
"Football is tough. There were hard times last season when I was not in the team. I had to be professional and work as hard as I could but I did feel that I had to move on simply for footballing reasons. Things changed and football is like that really. In the end wanted to stay and I signed the contract as soon as possible.
"It is nice to have the chance to play again but I know that I have a lot of hard work to get through to make sure I stay in the team. There will be another keeper coming in and I know that it is all about performances. I have to make sure that I do the business otherwise there is always going to be a keeper waiting to take my place in the side. It is nice to know I will have my chance and hopefully I can do this club and myself justice".
