DERBY manager Nigel Clough gave his thoughts after seeing his side played off the park last weekend.
Clough told www.dcfc.co.uk: "It's funny, the longer the game went on the more we thought we might have nicked it. They missed a couple of chances and Stephen Bywater produced a couple of magnificent saves to keep us in it.
"They got nervous in the last ten minutes and that was when we might have nicked it but it would have been unfair on Barnsley, who played very well. With the way the other results have gone it's a point gained, another game towards the end of the season, and a point further away from the relegation zone.
"Stephen made two or three great saves today and we were very pleased with him, while to get Stephen Pearson back on the pitch for 20 minutes unscathed is another bonus from today. It was hard watching that and I think it was the same for all Derby fans, we don't want too many like that.
"It was strange when we have looked so good going forward in recent weeks but today we hit a brick wall. We said to the lads at half-time that we would improve in the second half and we did. It is important not to lose those games. We are disappointed not to have come away with the three but when you don't play well you take the point, go home, come back in two weeks and try to do better."
