THE Football League are pleased to announce that there will once again be a Mitre Goal of the Year category at the 2009 Football League Awards, incorporating FourFourTwo's Top 50 Football League Players.

The Football League is asking clubs to nominate one goal from any Football League competition in the 2008 calendar year, to include goals scored in the Carling Cup, the Coca-Cola Football League and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

We want fans to help us decide our nomination by e-mailing suggestions to website@barnsleyfc.co.uk and Simon Davey will choose the best out of your goals.

In conjunction with viewers and presenters of Soccer AM, the entries will then be shortlisted from the 72 club nominations to five goals overall.Watch Soccer AM from late January to take part in the vote.The winner will be decided at the Awards ceremony at Grosvenor House, Park Lane on Sunday 29th March.
