REDS skipper Stephen Foster believes his side can have no excuses this season as they look to push up the Championship table.
Speaking to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk, Stephen said: "We had a great run in the FA Cup last season so we were all very disappointed not to have that opportunity again this time around.
"We played some good football at times at West Ham but we have to be a little more clinical in front of goal and cut out those silly mistakes at the other end.
"Our FA Cup run did have an effect on our league campaign last season so we can have no excuses this time around. We know that Southampton will not be an easy prospect for us and they will come to make it difficult but if we play well then I am sure we can win the game".
