MEDIA students from Barnsley College are working in tandem with the Trust to provide a visual insight into what the football-themed initiative is all about.
Their finished video will illustrate how sessions are delivered at local primary schools, and how pupils benefit from taking part. Raleys Solicitors, lead sponsors of Toby's Terriers, will also contribute to the video to explain the importance of backing activity of this kind.
"This is a great opportunity for everyone involved," explained senior lecturer Sam Wilson, who heads the media unit at Barnsley College. "Our students benefit from some quality time behind the camera with a real-life project to capture their imagination, while the Terriers team can look forward to a polished video showcasing the programme in the best possible light. It's a win-win situation, and we're excited to be helping out."
Piper's Grove Primary School was the first school to welcome cameras on site (pictured), with filming set to continue at several more schools in the months ahead before the finished video is unveiled next year.
Wayne Bullimore, Head of Community, commented: "Moving images of smiling, enthusiastic pupils will say a great deal more about Toby's Terriers than we could ever communicate through a written presentation, and that's why the video is so important to us.
"It will prove an invaluable resource in illustrating what we do, and in turn will hopefully encourage more sponsors to follow the example of Raleys Solicitors and back the programme so that we can keep it going for many more years to come."
Toby's Terriers was launched in September 2006. Qualified coaches visit schools for four-week cycles, with sessions taking the place of regular PE activity for a given morning or afternoon one day each week. A total of 60 local schools will have benefitted from the programme by the end of the current academic year next summer.
