BARNSLEY 4 (Hibbert 11, Coulson P 42, Heslop 62, Potter 89)
YORK CITY 4 (Shepherd 2, Russell 8, Boyes 25, Henderson 62)

BARNSLEY left it late but Luke Potter's 89th minute strike gave a young Reds side a point in a cracker at Oakwell.

The Reds were caught cold with just two minutes on the clock as lively City winger Liam Shepherd nipped in from the left before smashing a shot past Letheren and into the roof of the net.

Ronnie Branson's young side had still not found their feet in the contest when they were two down five minutes later after striker Simon Russell showed a good touch in the area to turn and beat Letheren from 12 yards.

Barnsley responded and Jordan Hibbert pulled one back on eleven minutes. The young midfielder did wonderfully well to cut in from the right and planted a low shot past Josh Mimms.

Russell again did well on 25 minutes and his cross caught the Reds defence napping to give strike partner Adam Boyes the chance to head home from the penalty spot.

Michael Coulson pulled the Reds closer again three minutes before the break after being upended in the area. The striker brushed himself down and beat Mimms from the spot.

The Reds were finally back on level terms just after the hour mark when Coulson's flick sent Simon Heslop in behind the City defence and the midfielder rifled the ball past Mimms.

York were not finished and edged in front again on 74 minutes when Niall Henderson took advantage of some hesitant defending to beat Letheren.

The Reds left it late but eventually were back level with just seconds remaining as Potter managed to get in behind the City defence to meet Martin Grundy's free kick and the defender slammed home an unstoppable drive to earn a share of the spoils.
