FORMER Reds striker Daniel Nardiello has admitted he never really did himself justice during his loan spell back at Oakwell last season.

Speaking exclusively to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk ahead of next weekend's clash, the Blackpool striker said: "I enjoyed the opportunity to go back to Barnsley last season even though I did not play the number of games I wanted. That was down to me really and you have to perform to get a place in the starting eleven and I did not really do that.

"I just want to get a game at the moment. I have spent so long on the sidelines this summer that I cannot wait to get going. Hopefully I will get a run out in the reserves next week and then a place on the bench when Barnsley come here.

"It will be very strange for me to play against Barnsley. I have spent most of my career with Barnsley so to line up against them next weekend will be a new experience.

"It will be a bit weird but I am a professional and I will be looking to score goals for Blackpool. It would be nice to get my Blackpool career off with a goal against Barnsley but it would also be a bit strange after spending so long with the club".
