REDS striker Jon Macken cannot wait to get back into the thick of the action at Queens Park Rangers this weekend.
Jon said: "We are looking forward to it. Pre-season is always a difficult time because it is all about getting your fitness. This should be a great division this season and there will be a lot of big teams and wonderful games. We have worked hard, our fitness is sharp and we are ready to go. It can take a few weeks to get right back at it but we have to be ready from the off. We are prepared and I think we are at a good level to get going straight away.
"We want to be a success this season and we want to enjoy things out there. We want to move forward. Hopefully we can go out on Saturday and put on a positive performance. We want to get a result that we can build from.
"You are always under pressure to score and create goals as a striker. That is always going to be the way in football. That is what we are here for and what we get paid to do. This squad is very competitive and that can only be good and bring the best out of people. We have to play and perform if we are going to stay in the side. It is an exciting place to be and we have people to push you every game.
"We want to do better than last season. We have to aim as high as possible and we will not accept another relegation battle or just mid-table. We have a squad that is capable of so much more. We want to push on up the league and we are not aiming for just 50 points. What will 50 points get you? It will win you nothing.
"We are aiming to go out there and win every game. That is our target and we will set our stall out to do that. Everyone fancies their chances in this division so it should be a great league. We are not here to make up the numbers and we want to go out on Saturday and give a performance to show that we are capable of better than last season".
