REDS midfielder Dwayne Mattis could be back in a Barnsley shirt inside a month after being given the all clear to resume training.

Dwayne suffered a fracture leg on loan at Walsall and has been sidelined since early October.

Physio Richard Kay told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk: "We have had some very good news after Dwayne Mattis was discharged by the fracture clinic and given the all clear.

"Dwayne has been able to do some running work outside this week and that is a big step in his recovery.

"He now faces a very tough couple of weeks during which he will be put through a pre-season type programme to get him fit. Hopefully he will be in contention for the reserves at the end of that and we could see him in a Barnsley shirt in early February".
