REDS midfielder Sam Togwell is determined to keep his place in the side after starting his first league game of the season at Leicester City last weekend.

Sam said: "We are looking forward to this weekend and we want to prove a few people wrong after the last two games. We have lost twice in the last week and we want to put that right. We want to get the right result against Preston and take that on into the next game.

"I have had to work hard this season and managed to get my first start at Leicester. It has been a while coming but now I want to keep my place in the team. Training here has been brilliant and morale is sky high at the moment. We want to show that on Saturday. We want to get back to winning ways.

"I have had to be patient but you cannot argue when players are doing well in the team. Now I am back in the team I want to make sure I stay there.

"I have always known what I am capable of and I think I proved that last season. I want to remind people of that. Competition for places has never been higher and people know that they have to work hard and play well if they are to keep a shirt. I have always been confident in my own ability and I have worked hard in training and through the summer. I want to take my chance".
