BARNSLEY FC are delighted to announce that defender Matt Hill has joined the Club on a permanent basis after a very successful loan spell at Oakwell.
Matt left Wolverhampton Wanderers by mutual consent yesterday and penned a permanent deal with the Reds, which will keep him at the Club until the end of the 2010/2011 season, in time to face Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium this evening.
The 29-year-old started his career at Bristol City, making almost 250 appearances for the Ashton Gate side before joining Preston North End in 2005. He then made the switch to Wolverhampton Wanderers three years later after more than a century of games for the Lilywhites.
He initially joined the Reds on loan at the end of October 2010 and has gone on to make seven first team appearances, netting one goal.
Matt becomes the fourth new arrival at Oakwell in the January transfer window following Garry O'Connor, Kern Miller and Danny Haynes into the Club.
"We have been match sponsors numerous times and have thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality that Barnsley Football Club offer. We would have no hesitation in recommending businesses to take advantage of a sponsorship package this season. Since getting involved with Barnsley FC the awareness of our business has risen significantly."
