From the depths of despair in August to daring to dream of a play off push by March, 2009/2010 was the ultimate rollercoaster season at Oakwell as Mark Robins arrived to stamp his authority on the club.

	2008 - 2009 - SURVIVAL SECURED ON THE FINAL DAY The Reds had enjoyed a stable summer off the field for the first time in an absolute age as Barnsley manager Simon Davey has quietly gone about strengthening his squad for the forthcoming Championship campaign.
	2007 - 2008 - FA CUP HEROES Buoyed by a summer of optimism and backed in the transfer market after Patrick Cryne's investment put the Club on a firmer financial footing, manager Simon Davey embarked on his first full season in charge as Coventry City arrived at Oakwell in the early August sun.
	2006 - 2007 - DAVEY MASTERMINDS THE GREAT ESCAPE Following the euphoria of May's promotion success in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, Andy Ritchie prepared his team for their return to the Coca Cola Championship.
	2005 - 2006 - A RED STORM RISING A new season started with renewed optimism around Oakwell after a summer which had seen Andy Ritchie confirmed as manager; Paul Hayes, Brian Howard; Richard Kell and Danny Nardiello sign on the dotted line and a genuine feeling that something could be achieved on the pitch after years of hurt.
	2000 - 2005 - ON THE SLIDE After only failing to reach the Premier league because of defeat in the play off final last season hopes were high amongst the support that the club would take the final step this time round and reach the promised land.
	1999 - 2000 - ALMOST BACK TO THE BIG TIME Since the play offs came into existence in the 1986-87 season the majority of teams outside the elite have been involved in them.
	1997 - 1998 - LIFE IN THE TOP FLIGHT The euphoria of the promotion winning game against Bradford City was carried throughout the summer.
	1996 - 1997 - THE PREMIERSHIP BECKONS When the 1996-97 season began few people in Barnsley never mind the rest of the country imagined that nine months later the Tykes would be celebrating their first ever promotion to the top flight.
	1978 - 1982 - BACK UP AND CHALLENGING In the history of Barnsley Football Club few men have had an immediate effect on the club as did Allan Clarke when he joined the club in July 1978 and the legacy he left still remains at the club.
