Barnsley Football Club are aiming to boost their family-friendly image this summer with a project to create a Family Zone.

The revamped area in the East Upper Tier will give youngsters an opportunity to meet Toby Tyke during the build-up to games, competitions will offer the opportunity to become a match-day mascot, win places on our summer training camps, or meet the first-team squad.

The Reds just missed out on the Football League Family Excellence Award last season and Don Rowing, Barnsley FC Director, said: "This project underlines our support for the Football League's Fans of the Future and Enjoy the Match campaigns, which are both aimed at encouraging even more families to attend matches at their local club."

Child season tickets for the 2009/10 season are available now and are FREE of charge for Under 12s. Benefits of the Family area include goodies throughout the year, chance to win a home visit from Toby Tyke, the opportunity to see how you measure up against our life size player wall as well as being the Manager on our Family Stand team wall.

Don Rowing added: "It really is great to see more and more people getting behind the club, which is really crucial to building success.

Sponsorship of the Family Stand is available from the start of the 2009/2010 Championship Season. With all the above incentives to make a visit to the Family Stand this would be an excellent package for a company looking to engage with the community by way of targeting families.

The Family stand sponsor will benefit from access to the supporter database of those in the Family area along with the opportunity to run match day promotions, ticket giveaways, flyers and gain valuable feedback and market research.
