REDS Academy Manager Ronnie Branson reflected on last weekend's 4-0 defeat at Everton.

Ronnie told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk: "We lost the game by four goals at Everton, who are a very big, strong side, but I felt that we played well to a point. We did ok, particularly in the first half, and created the better chances but just could not put them away.

"We let in three goals through individual errors really and that cost us the game.

"The lads did well and completed against Everton. Obviously we are all disappointed to lose the game but our performance was ok. We have to cut out the individual errors at the moment.

"We had a very young side out on Saturday. We had a 14-year old in Jake Scott out in the second half and he did pretty well for us. Reuben (Noble-Lazarus) is also just 15 and he played the full 90 minutes. We also had a trialist in as well.

"There were positive things to take away and work on.

"We now have a tough game coming up this weekend against Manchester City, who beat Middlesborugh 9-2 last week".
