Sam Winnall Signs Three-Year Deal For Barnsley FC

23 July 2014

Barnsley Football Club is pleased to announce that striker Sam Winnall has joined the Reds from Scunthorpe United.

Last season’s League Two top goal-scorer Winnall joins the Reds on a three-year deal, after both Clubs agreed an undisclosed fee to take the striker from Glanford Park to Oakwell.

After hitting the net 23 times last term, the 23-year-old is determined to carry on his form from last season.

"I'm really pleased to have joined an ambitious club," said Winnall. "I can't wait to get the season started.

"I'm excited about coming here and working under Danny."

Born in Wolverhampton, the striker emerged from his hometown club’s youth system and spent time out on loan with four different clubs – most notably Burton Albion and Hereford - before joining the Iron in the summer of 2013.
