Midfielder signs on
Barnsley have signed free agent John Rooney on a deal until the end of the season, subject to confirmation from the Football League.
The midfielder rose through the ranks at Everton and then Macclesfield before turning professional with the latter in 2008.
He has enjoyed spells in the U.S.A with New York Red Bulls and Orlando City before returning home several months back.
John turns 22 in December and will wear the number 26 shirt.
