REMINDER: Do Not Go On The Pitch Today.

30 April 2016

Important information ahead of Saturday's game at Oakwell Stadium.

Unauthorised entry onto the field of play, except in an emergency as directed by a steward is a criminal offence under the Football (Offences) Act 1991.  It is not a matter determined by the Club, it a matter under the determination of the Safety Officer and South Yorkshire Police.  They control the safety plan for each match and are the final arbiters on the matter.  If fans invade the pitch, the players will not be allowed (under the safety plan determined by the Safety Officer and the South Yorkshire Police) to come out and pay their tribute to the fans, even if the pitch subsequently clears.

Additionally, the Club may be subject to a fine dependent on the reports subsequently filed by the Safety Officer and/or the match referee.  You should be aware that police CCTV will record those who invade the pitch and retrospective action may be taken against any offender.  The Club has done its best to put information in fans’ hands about the consequence of pitch invasion.  We hope that all fans will take heed.
