Reds To Play In Limited Edition Charity Shirts This Saturday!

7 April 2016

Specially designed Prostate Cancer UK shirts will be worn by the players against Chesterfield and will be made available for fans to own via online charity auction!

Saturday’s game against Chesterfield has been designated as our ‘Prostate Cancer UK Matchday’, with various activities taking place throughout the day to help the fight against a disease that will affect 1 in 8 men in their lifetime.

To commemorate the occasion we are delighted to announce that the Barnsley team will play in limited edition replica shirts, as modelled here by Reds defender Marc Roberts and goalkeeper Adam Davies!

The specially designed charity shirts, which feature the Prostate Cancer UK logo on both the front and back, will be worn for one game only at Oakwell on Saturday. On behalf of the Club and Prostate Cancer UK, we would like to say a sincere thank you to our club Sponsors CK Beckett and Palmer Construction who have kindly donated their shirt sponsorship rights for the cause.

After the game, all of these limited edition shirts will be signed by the respective players and will be made available for Reds fans to own via an online charity auction. 100% of the money raised from the sale of the shirts will be donated to Prostate Cancer UK, so please keep an eye on www.barnsleyfc.co.uk after the game to find out when the charity auction is live!

Prostate Cancer UK is the Official Charity Partner of the Football League and a team of volunteers will be raising money for the charity at Oakwell on Saturday, so please support them where you can. Prostate cancer kills one man every hour in the UK and volunteers work hard throughout the year to support the 250,000 men currently affected by the disease in the country. And as well as giving generously, you yourself can get involved. Find out more at www.prostatecanceruk.org
