Goalkeeper pens two-year Reds deal

Ben started his career with Sunderland as a trainee before making a move to Spurs in January 2007 for a handsome six-figure fee.  Since which he has made appearances on loan at the likes of Leicester City, Norwich and more recently Leyton Orient last season.

A regular with England at many youth levels, the now-25-year-old has penned a two-year deal at Oakwell and looks set to compete with Supporters’ Player of the year, Luke Steele, for the number one jersey.

Keith Hill has bolstered his goalkeeping options by snapping up goalkeeper Ben Alnwick on a free transfer, subject to clearance from the relevant footballing bodies.
