Barnsley's young striker Rhys Oates has today joined Gainsborough Trinity on a month's youth loan.

The 18-year-old, voted 'Academy Player of the Year' for last season, joins the Conference North side little over a month after scoring a fine individual goal against Trinity.

First-year professional Oates spent pre-season in Spain with the first team and will look to add goals to Steve Housham's side.
