Head of Sports Science
Nathan Winder BSC (hons) PG Diploma MSCNathan is in charge of Sports Science at Oakwell and is set to embark upon his sixth season with the Club.
Having started as Head of Sports Science with the Club's Academy, Barnsley-born Nathan oversaw the physical development of many players who became involved with the first-team, including Danny Rose, John Stones, Reuben Noble-Lazarus and Paul Digby.
His role at the Club today involves monitoring training loads of first-team players, delivering gym-based training programmes, and physical conditioning. The Sports Science department has an interdisciplinary approach to the treatment and recovery from injuries with the Physio department.
Despite having moved on to taking charge of first-team Sports Science, Nathan still oversees the deliver of the Academy's Sports Science programme delivery.
