Reds fans will have the chance to meet their Wembley heroes – and get up close and personal with the famous Johnstone’s Paint Trophy – at special events in the town next week!
The full Barnsley squad will be on hand to meet and greet supporters at the Alhambra Shopping Centre onMonday 21st March as the countdown to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final between Barnsley and Oxford United gathers pace.
Fans will have the chance to have their picture taken with the coveted trophy at the free celebration event, while there will be competitions to win Johnstone’s goodies. The event runs from 2.30pm to 5.30pm on the Alhambra ground floor, with the the Barnsley first team players in attendance between 2.30pm and 3.30pm. Fans will also have the chance to get kitted out for the big day with various items available to buy from our new Wembley merchandise stall which opens up in the Alhambra Centre on Monday!
The Alhambra Shopping Centre event will be one of the highlights as the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy team visit for an action packed Trophy Tour ahead of Barnsley’s eagerly anticipated trip to Wembley Stadium on Sunday, April 3.
The Barnsley Trophy Tour fun gets underway on Monday, March 21 with the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy team hitting the streets of Barnsley to take in local efforts to ‘Paint the Town Red’ to back the club ahead of their big day.
Businesses, schools, shops, community groups and charities are being encouraged to get behind their local club by decorating buildings in ‘Barnsley Red’ using banners, flags and bunting.
On Tuesday, March 22, the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy will be on display at the Johnstone’s Decorating Centre on Wakefield Road (S71 1NG) between 7.30am and 9am.
Later that same day, the trophy will be on display at B & M on Barnsley Retail Park (S70 3NS) between 10am and 11.30am and Searns Décor on Hoyland Road (S74 0LX) between 12.30pm and 2pm.
The Trophy Tour will conclude at the Metrodome Leisure Complex between 3.30pm and 5pm where the coveted silverware will again be on show.

A Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Tour has taken place in Oxford on Wednesday, March 17 and Thursday, March 18.
The 2015-16 campaign represents the 10th season of partnership between Johnstone’s and the Football League.
