Another Academy graduate pens a professional deal at Oakwell

Goalkeeper Lukas Lidakevicius has penned a professional deal at Oakwell after progressing through the Barnsley Academy.

The Lithuanian has penned a one-year deal with the Reds which now means an impressive eight out of last year's second-year crop have now turned professional at Oakwell.

A regular with the Lithuanian Under 19s, Lukas was recently involved with the Under-21 squad. He told barnsleyfc.co.uk of his delight with his professional deal, "This is what I've been dreaming about," said the 19-year-old. "Last year Willco (Ian Willcock - Goalkeeper Coach) came in and has put on some great sessions. I've trained with Steeley (Luke Steele) and Preecey (David Preece) for the past two years and I've been getting better every day. To train with professionals like them and a great coach like Ian has made me better.

"I love it here in Barnsley. It's my home now."
