Leroy Lita Joins Barnsley

Lita is a Red

Barnsley Football Club is delighted to confirm striker Leroy Lita has joined the Club on a one-year deal.

The former Swansea, Reading and Middlesbrough striker caught up with Barnsley Player immediately after joining the Reds.

"It’s fantastic," said Lita of joining the Reds. "I know Danny Wilson very well. He was my first manager and I like the way he works. He’s got a lot of trust in me and I’ve got a lot of trust in him.

"I thought to myself ‘get down and play some games and score some goals’.

"I enjoyed my time under him as a youngster. He helped me a lot and helped me progress in my career so far.

"I just want to get back to playing football regularly again and I’m going to get that opportunity here."

Lita spent time with Chelsea as a youngster before teaming up with Bristol City in 2002.

The 29-year-old has been handed the number 33 shirt and could make his debut on Tuesday against Crewe in the League Cup.
