Barnsley's Under 18s held title-chasing Birmingham City to a 1-1 draw with a battling performance away from home.
Bailey Gooda - who featured as a holding midfielder against the Blues - was on target for the Reds with a brilliant 25-yard strike.
"We kept our shape very well and kept our discipline," said Head of Academy Coaching, Mark Burton.
"They've been free-scoring of late and we thought we'd set up to try and frustrate and then counter-attack. We tried to win the game but on the counter."
Reds XI: Rusling, Jeffs, Riley, Holgate, Cowgill, Gooda, Ndlovu, Alton, Kassouri, Templeton, Hall.
