Flitcroft's Leicester Reaction

28 September 2013

Reds Manager David Flitcroft caught up with the press following today's 2-1 defeat at Leicester City.

"There was fight in the team," said Flitcroft. "We've got players who can threaten teams.

"We've come away with another defeat, which is disappointing, but I'm pleased with the performances of the majority of my players.

"We've been trying to get players in and freshen a squad.

"I saw some quality, David Fox's calmness and Paddy McCourt's devilment.

"I'm looking forward rather than back at the minute."

Martin Cranie's header from a corner was remarkably kept out by Kasper Schmeichel, as Flitcroft continued, "It's two in a week now. We were 3-1 down at Watford and Almunia's made exactly the same save last week. It's a repeat. We were chasing and fighting the game. These boys are fighting and that's what I like to see.

"I know where the season's at. I'm not naive to think I'm not under pressure. I believe in the players. We've got a lot of teams yet that we can beat and will beat. We won't lose the will to fight."

Flitcroft revealed that Peter Ramage suffered a back injury so withdrew from the squad after the warm-up.
