Danny's Doncaster Rovers Reaction

17 January 2015

Reds Manager Danny Wilson gave his thoughts following today's 1-0 defeat at Doncaster Rovers.

"A lot of their attacks today came from our possession," said Wilson. "We got into some great situations throughout the game.

"We had great possession but were loose with it. We had great possession in the back of them but lost it loosely then they score a goal.

"We lost a tackle but the finish was fantastic. We had great opportunities to get the ball into key areas.

"We had the threat there. We were overloading them at the back and in midfield but the ball didn't get delivered. That's what we've got to work at.

"Mike Phenix has come in at a very tough time when it's difficult to get into the game. It was tough to come in so I'm not going to judge him on that."

Finally, talking of the sending off of Mason Holgate, Wilson added, "It's a foul, again - short ball back to him. Mason's inexperienced and he's gone to ground. An experienced player may have stood up or let the possession go to them and close it down.

"At that stage of the game as well, it's not a tackle with any maliciousness about it. He was committed to the ball and he's left the ground. In this day and age it's a sending off."
