All 2015/16 End of Season Awards will now be announced and presented on the pitch ahead of kick-off on Saturday.
Yesterday Barnsley Football Club announced that a number of our 2015/16 End of Season Award winners would be presented during our Celebratory Season Dinner in the Legends Suite on Tuesday 3rd May.
However following consultation with fans and supporter groups, it is clear that the supporter preference is to continue to announce and present the Awards on the pitch ahead of our final home game of the Season, as we have done in recent years.
Therefore we are now pleased to confirm that ALL AWARDS will be announced and presented on the pitch ahead of our final game of the season at Oakwell against Colchester United this coming Saturday 30th April. All of the Awards will be presented to the winners approximately 30 minutes before kick-off. The Awards to be presented are as follows:
• 2015/16 Most Promising Academy Player of the Season Award
• 2015/16 Academy Player of the Season Award
• 2015/16 Disabled Supporters Player of the Season Award
• 2015/16 Reds Player in the Community Award
• 2015/16 Players’ Player of the Season Award
• 2015/16 Young Player of the Season Award
• 2015/16 Goal of the Season Award
• 2015/16 Player of the Season Award
Reds Chief Executive Ben Mansford commented: “Following our success so far this Season, we initially decided to announce and present a selection of our End of Season Awards at the Celebratory Dinner on Tuesday night with coverage to be broadcast on our Club website and via social media. However following feedback, the Club acknowledges that many supporters would prefer to enjoy the Awards presentations on the pitch ahead of our final home game of the Season.
We have listened to the supporters and we have acted, and we will now present the Awards on the pitch ahead of kick-off on Saturday. I sincerely hope that as many supporters as possible are able to come and get behind Paul Heckingbottom and the players for what is a crucial game in our quest to qualify for the Play-Offs. Thank you all again for your fantastic support."
