Barnsley Football Club can confirm the release of the following players from Oakwell:
Brad Abbott, George Maris, Ben Drennan and Bailey Gooda.

The Club has taken up the option to extend the contracts of Jack Cowgill and Callum Evans for a further year, extending their stay at Oakwell until at least the summer of 2017. Jack has proven a mainstay for the Under 21s in the heart of defence this campaign after graduating from the Club’s Academy. Since coming back from a serious and long term injury, Callum has been outstanding in his Under-21 performances.
Defender George Smith has been offered a 12-month extension to his current contract following his excellent progress in the first team, which has included 25 appearances for the Reds and a successful loan period at Crawley Town.
Meanwhile, the Club can confirm discussions are currently ongoing with first-team players whose contracts are set to expire in the summer and we will keep supporters updated on all definitive news.
