Captains Past And Present Join Forces To Support Local Charity Event!

15 October 2015

Barnsley Captain Alfie Mawson and Reds Legend Bobby Hassell recently attended South Yorkshire Police's Charity Coffee Morning which was held to raise funds for research into a condition called Pulmonary Hypertension.

Pulmonary Hypertension is a rare but serious lung disease which puts stress on the heart and reduces the amount of oxygen that is able to reach the tissues of the body. The condition affects around 6,000 - 7,000 people of all ages throughout the UK.

As part of the day, Alfie and Bobby surprised lifelong Reds fan David who is living with the illness. David who has supported the Reds passionately for over 20 years, enjoyed the morning chatting to the Reds past and present captains and was presented with a 2015/16 home shirt and scarf as a gift from the Club. Thank you and congratulations to everyone involved for putting on a great event in aid of a fantastic cause.
