Shaun Tuton Joins Grimsby Town On Loan.

31 August 2016

24-year-old Striker heads to Blundell Park until the end of the 2016/17 season.

We can today confirm that Shaun Tuton has joined League Two side Grimsby Town on loan until the end of the 2016/17 season.

The frontman joined the Reds from Halifax Town in February on a two-and-a-half-year contract and has since gone on to make seven first team appearances.

Tuton will now team up with fellow Red Kayden Jackson, who also joined the Mariners on loan in July. Tuton will be looking to play a significant role and get some game time under his belt during his time on the East Coast.

On the loan deal, Reds Head Coach Paul Heckingbottom commented, “It’s a good move for Shaun. At this stage in his career he needs to be playing regular first team football, and this move should allow him to do just that. We have already seen the positive impact that Kayden has made at Grimsby and I’m sure Paul Hirst (Grimsby Manager) and the team there will nurture him and give Shaun similar opportunities to develop and improve as a player. Shaun’s a good lad with a great attitude, so I’m sure he’ll return to us with a lot to show for his time out on loan.”

We can also today confirm that development squad players Charlie Harris and Pedro Carneiro have left the Club by mutual consent.

We would like to thank both Pedro and Charlie for their hard-work and dedication to Barnsley Football Club and wish them all the best in their future careers.
