Barnsley Football Club can confirm its retained list which has been submitted to the EFL.
The following players have not been offered new contracts and will be released when their current deals expire:

Lewin Nyatanga
Matty Templeton
James Carvell
Jake Charles
Jack Cowgill
Omari Patrick
George Proctor
We thank all of these players for their services to Barnsley Football Club and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
Josh Scowen and Marley Watkins have been in discussions regarding new contracts, however, following meetings with Club representatives, both players have expressed an interest to explore other options.
Under 23s captain Jared Bird has been offered a new contract at the Club and we await his response to this offer.
Meanwhile, loan players Gethin Jones, Matty James, Callum Elder, Adam Armstrong, Ryan Kent, Saidy Janko and Julio Rodriguez have returned to their respective parent clubs.
