Reds Supporters Walking For Charity This Weekend!

2 March 2017

More than 60 supporters set to walk to Derby from Barnsley this Friday to raise money for CALM...

Barnsley Football Club are proud to support the West Stand Bogs fanzine and those signed up for the walk in their quest to raise much-needed funding for another worthy cause..

Following on from two previously successful walks to Chesterfield back in 2014 and Bradford in 2015 where over £20,000 was raised for various charities, this latest walk takes supporters to Derby, therefore with it being much further on this occasion the walk will be split into two days.

Liam Dyson who helped set up the West Stand Bogs fanzine explained to us why CALM was the chosen charity for this particular walk.

He told us: "Suicide is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. CALM looks to offer support and help for young men suffering in their time of crisis. Men tend to deviate when it comes to their own inner feelings and issues. It's time to change that and I hope that by doing our walk we can make a difference. The money raised certainly will do. And with the Club backing us like this then it's just perfect really."

Barnsley Football Club wish the participants the very best of luck with what looks a gruelling couple of days walking, all in the name of a terrific charity.
