The Reds pre-season schedule continues with Everton and Hull City playing Paul Heckingbottom’s men at Oakwell before an away trip to Peterborough to finish off the preparations for the upcoming Sky Bet Championship season.
A strong Everton squad led by new manager Ronald Koeman will be coming to face the Reds at Oakwell on Saturday 23rd July. Former fans favourite John Stones will be returning with The Toffees for the second year running after the Capital One Cup match last season. That day the match finished 3-3 in normal time, with Everton going on to win 5-3 in extra-time in what was a hugely entertaining match, shown live on Sky Sports!
The Reds will then face another stern test against newly promoted and now Premier League side, Hull City! The Tigers will bring a side to Oakwell that won the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs last season and bounced back to the Premier League at the first attempt following relegation the previous year. Steve Bruce’s side will be competitive and strong, giving the Reds a tough test. The match will also be an opportunity for Reds fans to see a Yorkshire Derby!
Finally, the Reds will finish their pre-season matches with a trip to face Peterborough United at the ABAX Stadium. The League One outfit played two very competitive games against Barnsley last season, with one victory each!
