They could even complete the double, with a place in the League Cup Final too!
This coming Sunday, the Barnsley Ladies First Team could win the league title if they win their last match of the season!
They play against Oughtibridge War Memorial Ladies, who are currently mid-table. The three points on offer would put the Ladies on equal points as the current league leaders Norton & Stockton Ancients, however the Ladies would be League Champions on goal difference.
The league felt out of reach only a week ago, with Norton being the favourites to beat strugglers, Castleton White Rose Ladies last Sunday, but an unexpected defeat may well prove to have cost them the league title.
The Ladies are also in the League Cup Final, so they could actually end up doing the double!
Gaining promotion for the Ladies would be a huge achievement for them as they have been working their way up the table for the last three seasons and narrowly missed out on promotion last season.
Promotion to the FA Women's Premier League Division One North would change Ladies football in this area and take it to the next level.
