Maël de Gevigney is the winner of the January Player of the Month award!
The Frenchman was chosen by supporters as January's winner, in association with Club partner, NG Decor!
Winning the award for the second time this campaign, the 24-year-old has continued to grow into the Barnsley shirt since joining the Reds in the summer from his native France.
Displaying a series of consistent performances at the back, Maël has impressed with this tenacity in combat and ability to step up with the ball from defence.
Our centre-back even popped up with a goal against Exeter City, a stooped header late on to get the Reds back in the game at Oakwell.
de Gevigney showed his appreciation towards the Barnsley faithful in voting for him to win the award and backing across the season so far:
"Thank you to all the fans who voted for me, I'm really grateful for it. It was a good month for the team, especially with the three wins in a row which was really important for us. It was a good month personally too, I'm really happy."
