The Reds’ 3-0 success at St Andrews was the Club’s first win in five games and moved Paul Heckingbottom’s men up to 12th place in the Championship. 

Without a home victory since August however, Barnsley will be desperate to replicate some of their away form and halt their seven-match winless Oakwell run.

Norwich arrive in South Yorkshire having put an end to their dismal recent form which had seen the Canaries lose six on the bounce.

Last Saturday’s 5-0 thrashing of Brentford saw Alex Neil’s side climb to seventh place and just a point outside the play-off spots.

Away from home the Norfolk-based outfit have lost their last three in a row in the league; scoring just once in the process.

A win for Barnsley could see them move to within two points of Saturday afternoon’s visitors.

Barnsley will be looking for their first win against Norwich in 12 games.

The Reds’ last victory in this fixture came all the way back in August 2000 when Lee Jones scored the only goal of a tight affair at Oakwell.

Since then however, Barnsley have drawn two and lost nine against the Canaries including defeats in the last three meetings; the most recent of which was in February 2011.

In total, Norwich have won 17 games in this fixture, with Barnsley winning nine and 12 draws.

Head Coach Paul Heckingbottom may be tempted to stick with the same side which secured an impressive 3-0 win at Birmingham last weekend.

That would see Sam Morsy continue in midfield alongside captain Conor Hourihane and Josh Scowen, while Tom Bradshaw will be hoping he did enough to start alongside Sam Winnall once again.

If Heckingbottom does opt to make changes however, Adam Armstrong and Adam Hammill will be chomping at the bit to be involved but one man who is not available is Marley Watkins, who sits out the second game of his three-match ban.

Visitors Norwich could also go with the same XI from their 5-0 success against Brentford last Saturday.

That would see Nelson Oliveira continue to lead the line for the Canaries, with Jacob Murphy, Alex Pritchard and Steven Naismith providing the attacking support.

Kyle Lafferty, Wes Hoolahan and Louis Thompson offer other options for boss Alex Neil but Matt Jarvis remains out with a knee injury. 

Andy Woolmer will take charge of a Barnsley game for the seventh time on Saturday.

The Northamptonshire based official has overseen two Barnsley wins, one draw and three defeats so far; the most recent of which came in their last meeting.

That was in August 2015 when Woolmer watched over the Reds’ 3-1 loss at Chesterfield.

Norwich meanwhile, have met with the referee on nine previous occasions; winning three, drawing two and losing four.

Two of those nine games have actually come this season, with Woolmer taking charge of the Canaries goalless draw against Sheffield Wednesday in August, as well as their extra-time defeat against Leeds United in the League Cup.

Those are two of 20 matches which Woolmer has overseen in total this term, where he has brandished 45 yellow cards and just one red.

Following a string of loan spells with the likes of Swindon, Southend, Blackpool, Scunthorpe and Colchester, Jacob Murphy spent the entirety of last season at Coventry where he netted a career high 10 goals in 42 games.

It was that form which saw Norwich hand the 21-year-old winger a Championship start against Blackburn Rovers on the opening day of the season.

The former England youth international – who has three assists this term - didn’t take long to impress; bagging his side’s first goal as they went onto secure a 4-1 triumph at Ewood Park.

That strike was the beginning of a hot streak for the Wembley-born attacker; hitting six goals in nine matches including a brace against Wigan and one against his former Club Coventry in the EFL Cup.

Despite not finding the back of the net in his next eight games, Murphy returned to the scoresheet last weekend against Brentford.

That game was the winger’s 18th appearance so far this term and having played just twice for the Canaries before this season, he is now a vital part of this current Norwich City squad.

In September 2015 Barnsley swooped to complete the signing of free agent Simeon Jackson on a short-term deal after the Canadian international left Coventry.

The former Gillingham and Millwall forward made his Tykes debut as a 79th minute substitute in a 4-1 home win against Swindon.

It was the first of 10 appearances that Jackson would make for the Reds which included further victories against York and Oldham.

Unfortunately for the experienced front man he failed to score during his time in South Yorkshire and in January he left the Club; joining Blackburn Rovers, where he netted twice in 19 games.

In July the 29-year-old was on the move again, this time joining Walsall, who became the ninth Club of his career. 

Amongst Jackson’s former Clubs is Norwich, where the striker hit 21 goals in 85 games during a three-year spell after joining the Canaries from Gillingham in July 2010.

The former Tyke hit two hat-tricks in his first campaign at Carrow Road which helped Norwich on their way to promotion to the Premier League, where he scored four times over two seasons before signing for German outfit Braunschweig in July 2013.
