Midfielder feels the Reds are close to turning their performances into positive results.
Reds midfielder Matty James feels Barnsley had enough chances to take something out of this afternoon's clash with Norwich City.
Jacob Murphy's driven effort and an unfortunate Angus MacDonald own goal gave the Canaries all three points at Carrow Road, but the Reds were not short on chances.
Tom Bradshaw had a goal chalked out for offside, while Ryan Kent and Adam Hammill both went close to making it onto the the score sheet.
James said: "I think in the end, we had the chances to get something out of the game. It was a slow start in terms of the way we wanted to impact the game, but I think the timing that they scored was a good time for them.
"We've come out in the second half and had more than enough chances to get something out of the game, so it's frustration in the dressing room at the minute.
"We were getting caught in too many minds, the gaps were a little bit too big and I think it's not that they caused us an issue, we just didn't get it right at, but it's just frustration with the chances that we did have."
James feels that this has become a common trait for the Reds in recent weeks, but insisted the fact they are still creating plenty of chances means fans should not be disheartened by results.
He hopes this will turn in the coming matches and that Barnsley can take their chances and come away with three points.
"Over the last few games we've been involved in, shooting's been the one thing that's let us down. We've been in all the games but if you don't take your chances, you're not going to win football games and today has proven that, you have got to be ruthless.
"Chances are being created and when you're creating chances, you're going to have times when you're going to win and times when you don't and lose games. The positive thing for this team is that the chances are being created at this end and hopefully we can just stop the threat from the other team and climb a little bit.
"Everybody has got to contribute, everybody's got to give that little bit more and be ruthless in front of goal. We could have won easily today 3-2 or 4-2 with the chances that we had, but the wins will come soon enough," he added.
The midfielder feels that the forthcoming international break gives the Reds a chance to come back stronger against Sheffield Wednesday and right the wrongs of recent weeks.
He also hopes he can continue to show why the Reds have shown such faith in bringing him to the Club and for giving him opportunities to get back out and playing.
"When a team does well, the expectation level starts to grow, the club has done excellent so far but we're inches away from winning games comfortably and going into half time comfortably. Hopefully that will click.
"There's a gap now, most of these lads have played every single game, it's a tough league and it's a good time to have a bit of a break and have some shooting practice before Sheffield Wednesday."
"I feel that I'm growing game by game and hopefully people think that as well. I'm just trying to do as much as I possibly can for this football club in the time that I've got left, trying to improve and trying to stamp my authority in this league again and just trying to impress.
"The fans have been great with me and the club have been fantastic with me, I just want to do as much as I possibly can to keep improving game by game and as much as I can for this football Club," he added.
