Barnsley FC Proudly Supports Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Reds first team players Stefan Payne, Sessi D’Almeida and Toby Tyke visit patients, parents and carers at the specialist children’s charity.

We were today honoured to visit Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice to show the Club’s support and raise awareness for a truly amazing charity which cares for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. First team players Stefan Payne and Sessi D’Almeida (along with Toby Tyke!) took time out to talk to patients, parents and carers, and had a tour of the facilities where they learnt about the role of the Hospice and the incredible support that it provides to children and young adults from Barnsley, the South Yorkshire region and beyond.

Based in North Anston, the Hospice offers a range of services including; day care, respite care, end of life treatment and care, community support, and young adult groups. Their motto at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is ‘living with love and laughter’ and their aim is to create special memories for children, young adults and families who visit.

All of the essential services provided by the charity are completely free to children and families referred to Bluebell Wood, however it costs over £4 million a year to keep its doors open. The majority of their running costs are raised through fundraising and the generosity of supporters and the general public.

Please support the Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice where you can as they continue to provide essential care and support to the children of our local community.
